Holistic healthcare is becoming increasingly more popular in the United States, so finding a holistic doctor is easier than ever. However, it may take more leg work than finding a regular doctor. When you are looking for a holistic doctor, keep in mind these general criteria:

  • The doctor is devoted to healing the whole person: mind, body and spirit
  • The doctor allows you to be part of the decision making process regarding treatment
  • The doctor offers both traditional and alternative treatments
  • The doctor responsibly explains all possible courses of treatment for each ailment
  • The doctor guards patient confidentiality
  • The doctor has some sort of formal training in holistic medical practices
